Diplomatic Relations, 2018
Collaboration with Ryan Farrell
This interactive installation was initially inspired by an offset lithography print titled "Diplomatic Relations," created in 2000 by Lisa Rockford, which became a backdrop for this 2018 installation.
Customized fashion belts with fake military insignia, gold leaf, and a magnet in the center are available for viewers to wear. Viewers can choose their missile size and shape and use the magnetized base to attach it to the belt, pose on the podiums, (with optional magnifying lens), and/or battle in the ring.
Podiums and battle ring created by Ryan Farrell (with corporate logos selected by Lisa).
