"Readymade" Objects collected and curated into installations that echo consumer desire.
I am attracted to kitsch, and consumer objects, and I am fascinated by the context and psychology of how certain items become desired and will eventually become lasting artifacts that epitomize a time period. As a result, I spend hours mining, collecting, curating, hacking, and manipulating these items.
I aim to chip away at their sentimental, saccharine façades and investigate how these objects reflect a historical lineage of entrenched notions of gender and power hierarchies that lead to objectification of and violence against women.
My artistic method has therefore become a process of collecting and amassing images and objects; curated into maximalist arrangements that mirror cultural affectations and mimic the latent values embedded within the objects.
